Air Problems

Dust

The atmosphere comprises of many minute particles. Among these particles, those that possess a span of less than 500 micrometres are collectively referred to as dust.

Dust can also appear in the form of solid particles that are carried by environmental factors such as wind and other atmospheric conditions.

The dust one finds in homes and offices typically contains small amounts of material from the living environment itself such as animal and human hair, pollen from plants and minute minerals from the soil outside.

A key factor in the agitation of hay fever in individuals is the presence of dust. By maintaining  a constant stream of air circulating in one’s living space through open windows or doors kept ajar, the chances of contracting hay fever owing to dust can be lowered.

While fresh air may keep hay fever at bay one cannot rule out the possibility of dust particles being circulated within an air stream. Dust in homes is mainly due to it being airborne so when cleaning, care should be exerted to prevent it from being airborne. A means of repelling dust is through the use of an electrical charge. At AOM we offer a wide range of products capable of consistently reducing dust within one’s living area. To learn more, call (65) 6286 3333 or email sales@aom.sg.
